More about
the Center... A
Historic Piece of the Past
The West Long Branch Community
Center building is the original Norwood Country Club--whose
membership included the Woolworths, Guggenheims, Astors, Duponts and other wealthy
families--which was built in the mid-1920's and restored in 1953 by the local
Lions Club who then presented it as a gift to the residents of the
borough.
The Center is operated by the
West Long Branch Community Center, Inc. Board of Trustees. The
current officers are:
Gene Van Brunt, President
Gertrude Martinez, 1st Vice President
Joyce Sprague, Secretary-Treasurer
